Harajuku
Harajuku is the next station after Shibuya of the JR line in northern direction. Here we find the center of the very extreme Japanese teenager culture and fashion. Most famous area is the Takeshita Dori (street), where always a thick stream of bizarre teenagers and photo taking tourists push along the street between various trend shops – claustrophobia is not advisable.
On Sundays the main attraction of the ‘teenage culture’ is the ‘costume play’ with total freak out costumes from animation movies, punk musicals and so on – sometimes the Japanese are really crazy.
As well on Sundays nearby many bands compete in very close distance to each other on the loudest (?) performance – deafening!
