On our way back from Nikko (report ‘Nikko’) we stopped to visit the splendid residence of a local wealthy politician and businessman from the 19th century. Remarkable is that the veranda floorboard is made of one piece and everyone is worth more than 80.000 Euro. Living must have been quite hot in summer and beastly cold in wintertime.
